International Clinical Trials Day

Happy Clinical Trials Day

In honor of International Clinical Trials Day, we’d like to thank our members and colleagues for their contributions to improving the clinical trials enterprise.

May 20 is recognized around the world as International Clinical Trials Day to commemorate the day that James Lind started what is often considered the first randomized clinical trial aboard a ship on May 20, 1747. In his efforts to find a remedy for scurvy, Lind’s methodical approach to testing shipmates led him to correctly identify citrus fruits as a cure for the then prevalent disease. (Source: ACRP)

Over 250 years later, Lind’s foundational concepts have burgeoned into a large enterprise responsible for delivering modern medicine to patients around the world. The systems and culture of clinical research continue to evolve and at CTTI, we are proud to both inform and drive these advances.
