Dana Lewis founded the open-source artificial pancreas movement “OpenAPS,” which aims to make safe and effective automated insulin delivery (AID) technology accessible for people with diabetes around the world. She is a passionate advocate of patient-centered, -driven, and -designed research. Ms. Lewis is an independent patient researcher, and her advocacy and innovation in multiple healthcare fields have sparked discussions about patient autonomy, the role of technology in healthcare, and the future of medical device and clinical trial development. She serves on various boards and committees, including the Life for a Child USA board and the Life for a Child international steering committee.
